Drugstore Stains

More Lip Stuff!! Because I have a bit of a problem.

I've actually talked about these before in some other posts. Like this and this.
But...see...I found some coupons........   You know the story.

The good news is that my little problem results in a good selection of swatches for you guys! Happy ending!

 Left to Right:

  • Darling : Lilacy Lavender
  • Rendezvous: Orangey Coral
  • Sweetheart: Bright Rose Pink
  • Lovesick:  Fuchsia
  • Smitten: Red Berry
  • Romantic: Warm Brick Red
  • Adore: Dark Red

I've already told you how I love tinted balms. There is no denying that.
These Revlon balms really deliver too. Great color, great feel and simply amazing staying power!

I've replaced my Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter from the fall/winter with these lip stains. Just like the lip butter, I can throw one of these in my bag and use it as my lip balm and I can wear a hot pink lip all day and that lasts through all my meals, drink and general randomness. Such as my horrible habit of holding pins and pens between my lips.   The color stays vibrant and messy free. There is never any bleeding or smudging and I can throw it on anywhere without a mirror like a regular ol' colorless balm, but still get a full pop of color!

I've been wearing these so much this summer that they've ended my Matte Phase and taken me back to a whole new set of lip options! I'm going back to glosses and creams. It's like a whole new world out there all over again!

Of these 7, not all will live with me. Darling is just too light for my darker lips and makes me look slightly washed out. It reflects light more than anything so it just looks whiteish on my lips. Romantic is another. I'm not a fan of the warm brick colors on me. They seem to make my skin look far more yellow and take on a very brown color once on my tan lips. I'm not into the brown lipsticks. I lived through the 90's. I'm not ready to go back there. Style wise.  Adore I am on the fence about. The intensity of the red is really nice and it looks good on my skin. It's a darker red in a glossy finish, something I don't have otherwise, but there's probably a reason for that. I tend to not go glossy with my dark lips and stick to more matte looks. Which is also exactly why I'm on the fence! I don't have this option in my set so I should keep it, right??

I know....

Someone roll out the Intervention banner.
I'll wait here.
