BB Cream Week: The Reigning Champ

Not long ago, the weather in New England went from frigid spring to SUMMAAHH!  The heat came and with that so did my shiny face.

It wasn't that the Rimmel wasn't working, it was that I just wanted....more.  I'm a girl, it's what we what.

So after more nights of intense research (Gypsy shows and YouTube) I decided I was going to try...

Much like the Rimmel BB Cream this one calls itself a "Super BB Cream". I'm not sure what constitutes that. Can I start calling myself a 'Super Indian'? I'm going to look into this.  In the meantime, Physician's Formula apparently uses the term 'super' because they claim this one tube does 10+ things.

Something with an S that came off my poor box, moisturizing, protecting, firming, priming + filling, perfecting, concealing, brightening, line-softening, long-wearing.

Why is priming and filling together, but not concealing and perfecting?
I don't know. BB Creams just sound like they're all just tinted moisturizers wearing a lot of adjectives.

This box has a lot to say, but on the side it says this:
Ultra-blendable and lightweight cream effortlessly glides on, instantly infusing moisture, refining skin's surface and providing protection from the environment. Skin looks and feels smooth, glowing & naturally flawless.
Ultra-versatile beauty balm simplifies your morning beauty routine by delivering the benefits of Moisturizer, Foundation & SPF protection in one easy to use product!

Ok so, this is what I'm looking for so why isn't this on the front the box?
I don't know. But bottom line is actually agree with it.
But here's the whole reason I decided on this cream.

This is the only one of the drugstore brands that has confirmation of real SPF coverage.
Many of the brands have SPF 25 or 30. Some said broad spectrum. But only Physicians Formula states clearly it has UVA/UVB Protection.  That's key, kids. Anyone can say they have SPF in their product. Anyone can say they have broad spectrum. But if they aren't broad spectrum for both, then you're really just wasting your time.

And because of this reason, I feel safe to use this instead of my moisturizer that contains the SPF 30 that I use daily. So I've been using this over my Yes To Grapefruit Serum after cleansing my skin as my moisturizer and it's been exactly what I was looking for since last fall.
I know a hand sample really isn't sufficient to show you how this works, but it's the best I've got for now.

I will admit, at first, this looks slightly ridiculous on my skin, but once I work it in and it warms up to my skin, it suddenly becomes the right color for me! I've heard of those color adjusting products but never thought they really worked. Turns out I was wrong!   I've been using this BB Cream for at least 2 or 3 months now and normally at this time of the year my foundation needs to be adjusted daily, but not PF. It has matched my color day in and day out with no fuss. Incredible.

Of all the BB Creams and moisturizers I've tried, this has had the most coverage, followed by the Rimmel. But this is a solid light coverage with one application and it can be built up to medium coverage by just layering. Add in actual concealer or a good powder and you're as good as foundation ready.

Since the coverage is thicker, this covers blemishes and dark marks more, though not as much as a full coverage foundation. One application blurs some small blemishes and subdues dark marks. A 2nd coat helps and a 3rd I usually only do as spot treatments like concealer. I like the coverage this gives me but I'm not the type to go for a heavy coverage foundation for my skin. I'm ok with the blemishes my skin has and I'm not trying to hide them completely, but I will try to play them down, and this BB Cream does that perfectly.

Mostly this BB Cream evens out my skin tone and leaves my skin soft to the touch and looking slightly airbrushed. The finish dries almost powdery, more matte than the Rimmel but not as matte as the Bare Minerals Regular Foundation. As the day goes on, the mattifying properties diminish and I do get shiny, but not oily or melty. I never feel like I have anything on my skin and it never settles into any lines or dry spots.

And I will say it does last long indeed. I'm not a re-applyer and this will last me from morning until very late night. There may be a powdering somewhere after dinner if I'm going out, but otherwise it stays in place and my skin has been feeling great since I've started using this.

I don't do anything fancy with the application of this. I use my fingertips and I work it in like I would a moisturizer. If I'm feeling super fancy I'll use a stipple brush, but I"m not fancy all too often.

I'm very excited about this BB Cream. It's condensed my routine to a nice quick package that I appreciate and it's delivered pretty well for a quick product I can buy at my local drugstore. It may not do 10+ things, but it does what I need it to do. It protects my skin from the sun, it makes my skin look better and it might be doing a few things to help in the long run.

I can't ask for anything more.
False.
I won't ask for anything more.
